The best order for a fresher resume
- Name and contact details — phone, a professional email, city, and your LinkedIn or portfolio link.
- Career objective or profile — two or three lines on what you're good at and the role you want.
- Education — degree, college, year and marks (CGPA or percentage) — latest first.
- Projects — your strongest academic or personal projects: what you built and the tools you used.
- Internships and training — even short ones count; mention what you actually did.
- Skills — technical and software skills first, then soft skills.
- Certifications, achievements and activities — courses, competitions, college clubs, volunteering.
- Languages — and your level in each.
Tips that get freshers shortlisted
- Keep it to one page. Recruiters spend seconds on a first look.
- Lead with projects. For freshers, projects show your skills better than anything else. Use action words: built, designed, analysed, improved.
- Use numbers. "Built an attendance app used by 120 students" beats "made an app".
- Match the job. Use the same words as the job description for skills you really have.
- Skip what doesn't help. Father's name, religion and a full address are not needed. A photo is optional.
- Check spelling twice and save as PDF so the layout never breaks.
